The carpet was red, but it was a great night for white as the stars got glam for the Golden Globes. Sleek snowy gowns, racy red dresses, trailing trains, tons of tulle and an abundance of bling led the trends as the A-list adorned themselves in the most of-the-moment designer duds. From our up-close-and-personal perch on the red carpet runway, Hollywood.com caught all of the heavenly haute couture, and we’re running down our picks for the most fashionable frocks, the tuxedo triumphs and a few embarrassing busts (you know who we mean)

At 18-years-old, Britney Spears seductively walked on the stage at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in a black suit, her blonde hair tucked up underneath a black top hat. She began a rendition of the Rolling Stones' classic tune "(I Can Get No) Satisfaction," and just as the audience settled in, she threw off the hat, hair flying, and started singing her current hit, "Oops! I Did It Again." Then she ripped off the suit. Chins dropped to the floor. Guys fell out of their seats. Britney was there to show everyone that she was "not that innocent," and she revealed, well, more Britney than we'd ever seen. And it was a sensation. So it's no surprise that Spears, now 19, has made the number two spot on our sexiest stars list. She has everything going for her, gracing several magazine covers, blocking the streets of New York when she appears on MTV and "Walking This Way" with legendary Aerosmith at the Super Bowl this past January. However, no one would have thought that the teenaged Spears would cause such a phenomenon. The Louisiana native began chasing her teeny-bopper dream at a very young age. Armed with a powerful vocal talent, an 8-year-old Britney tried her luck at shows like Star Search, and at age 10 Spears landed a role on the Mickey Mouse Club alongside her now beau Justin Timberlake of the band N'sync (fans everywhere are simply salivating over the pairing) -- as well as her friendly rival Christina Aguilera. Back in 1999, when her first solo record "Baby One More Time" burst onto the scene, it became one of the best selling albums of the year. Britney landed a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist -- and gave boys everywhere the best school girl fantasy they'd ever have.
She didn't stop there, appearing on the April '99 cover of Rolling Stone magazine, wearing incredibly short shorts and a bra and sprawling on a bed. After that, the then 17-year-old was labeled a musical "Lolita." Still, teenage girls saw her as a role model, desperately wanting to become her. Britney Spears dolls began appearing on - and disappearing from -- toy store shelves. The singer became a trendsetter with her tight pants and low-cut tank tops. Her next big single, Oops!I Did It Again, released in May of last year, sold 1.3 million copies during the first week of release, beating Mariah Carey's record for the highest first-week sales by a female solo artist. And, just like any guilty pleasure, we eagerly anticipate her next move. Sexiest Moment: The strip tease act she performed at the MTV Music Awards last August pretty much blew apart any preconceived ideas that Ms. Spears was an innocent ex-Mouseketeer. Co-host Marlon Wayans was speechless after her number, saying how she had suddenly gone "from the Mickey Mouse Club to the Strip Club." Sexiest Quote: "All I did was tie up my shirt!" she said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. "I'm wearing a sports bra under it. Sure, I'm wearing thigh-highs, but kids wear those -- it's the style. Have you seen MTV -- all those girls in thongs?" regarding her "Baby One More Time" video. Hottest Music Video: Duh. Of course it's "Baby One More Time." With Spears dressed as a school girl, her long blonde hair in pig-tails, her long legs clad in thigh-highs and a very, very short skirt - this could quite possibly be one of the sexiest videos of all time. Best Physical Feature: Those curvy hips and bare midriff that drives the boys silly. A newly acquired fairy tattoo highlights the small of her back, and a pierced navel decorates the stomach she prominently displays them whenever she gets the chance. God bless her. In Her Future: Spears just signed a deal with Pepsi, and her first TV commercial aired on March 25 during the 73rd Academy Awards. The deal will also include point-of-purchase promotions and Internet ties between Spears' and Pepsi's respective Web sites. She also co-wrote a book with her mother Lynn Spears, was released on April 10. Finally, with the acting bug firmly in place, she will begin filming a still untitled movie this month, where her character reunites with two childhood friends. Tamra Davis (Billy Madison) will direct the film.

The Hollywood Forever Memorial Park certainly lives up to its name.

Looking north through its front gates, you can see the Hollywood Sign up atop the Hollywood Hills. Looking south, you can see the historic back lot of the famous Paramount Studios. And interred throughout the cemetery grounds are some of the most famous stars in the history of Old Hollywood, including Rudoph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, Nelson Eddy, Peter Lorre, Janet Gaynor, Tyrone Power and Clifton Webb.

Unlike most modern cemeteries, this isn't a "lawn park," it boasts an admirable collection of old-fashioned standing headstones, monuments and statues.

This is a large cemetery, with two huge indoor mausoleums and countless outdoor graves. You will need a map if you are going to locate any of the stars' burial sites. Fortunately, the administration here is cooperative, and you can pick up a map of the grounds as you enter the park, from the flower shop at the main gate, which highlights the locations of many of the stars buried here.

Actress, mother and activist for autism and her boyfriend of four months - Bodybuilder Jason Toohey - have broken down, a representative of the star confirmed to the British Daily Mail.

"They remain good friends," added the representative.

Jenny and Jason began dating earlier this year, several months after it was revealed he had separated from actor Jim Carrey.

And the career exchange is working the other way around, too. Charlie’s Angel Cheryl Ladd had a hit single in the ’70s; Bruce Willis, Patrick Swayze (may he rest in peace), Don Johnson and Eddie Murphy had one Top 10 apiece in the ’80s; and Jennifer Lopez spent the early ’00s as one of the hottest women in pop. The multi-talented singer/actress/dancer finished first last year in our poll and successfully defended her crown this year. Way to go, J.Lo! Sexiest Role: Lopez solidified her leading lady status as Federal Marshall Karen Sisco opposite George Clooney in Steven Soderbergh's subtly steamy action thriller Out of Sight. Displaying a winning sense of humor that added a down-to-earth charm to her undeniable sultriness, Lopez proved a good fit for heartthrob Clooney, and the two displayed intense onscreen chemistry. Sexiest Scene: We have two words for you: car trunk. They don't sound that sexy, but let me tell you, add J.Lo and George Clooney to the mix and there ain't no place steamier. (The scene's from Out of Sight.) Best Quote: J.Lo on sex to Details magazine: "Really, I still feel like I'm learning. And I'm open to learning more. And I want my partner to be, too. There's always room for improvement, so do not get too comfortable!" We couldn't agree more, Jennifer--we're open to learning more with you! Physical Feature We Love: It's all about the butt. We're fascinated by it, consumed by it and would give anything to touch it. Jennifer's magnificent derriere is worthy of a whole class of poetry all by itself. In Her Future: This year is shaping up to be a busy one in film for J.Lo, who has the opening of Enough to look forward to (she stars as a woman who feels the only way out of her abusive marriage is murder), followed by the heist thriller Gigli, which costars Ben Affleck and will be filmed this year. Finally, she'll portray a modern-day Cinderella in the John Hughes penned The Chambermaid, with production to commence this summer. Plus, an as-yet-untitled album is rumored to be released this fall.

She's the hottest face on the Fox network--and with those luscious lips and that flawless body, it's not hard to see why. Jessica Alba is young, aggressive and ready to take on the world. And she's only 20, so imagine what she'll want when she's a little older. More than just a pretty face, this action hero has real talent: the raven-haired actress was nominated for a 2001 Golden Globe award for best actress in a dramatic television series and won TV Guide's 2001 breakout star award. Of course, her look is hot, hot, hot. Hot enough that L'Oreal recently signed Jessica as a Feria hair color spokesperson. This heavenly angel is engaged to co-star Michael Weatherly, who received more than a few write-in votes from our poll. How She Did in Our Poll Last Year: Mea culpa. We, perhaps in a fit prudish protectiveness (not an easy alliteration to make), neglected to add the then-teenage Jessica to the list. At least we made amends this year. Sexiest Role: As super-warrior Max in James Cameron's hit sci-fi series Dark Angel. We can easily believe that Jessica is genetically enhanced like her onscreen alter ego, given the tight black outfits she often wears. Best Quote: "I thought it was my job to give all the boys their first kiss." (Hey, I may be married, but how the heck did I miss my turn?) Sexiest Scene: No particular scene to date. But in her spare time the multi-talented lass from Pomona, Calif., treats sea life to glimpses of her wetsuit-clad figure; she's a PADI-certified scuba diver. Those lucky, lucky fish. Physical Feature We Love: To repeat: it's the lips. Those luscious, kissable lips. Of course, there's a laundry list of other features we could mention, but why bother? It's only torture. Last year, at the age of 62, Family Ties star Meredith Baxter announced that she now identifies as a lesbian. The admission came as a surprise, considering the former Mrs. Keaton has been married three times and has five children.
She explained to Matt Lauer, “I am a lesbian and it was a later-in-life recognition. Some people would say, well, you’re living a lie and, you know, the truth is -- not at all. This has only been for the past seven years.”
Meredith believes she previously chose men with whom she clashed, so that the eventual demise of the relationships could be pinned on them, instead of thinking the problem might lie with her. Betty remained a favorite until the mid-50's and the decline in the popularity of musicals. Her last film was How to be Very, Very Popular in 1955. She died of cancer in 1973, but the image of her famous legs lives on.
